So I'm sitting here watching Steven Universe with Glenn Hidalgo and we're amazed at how different the cartoons are today than they were when we were kids. 


It's a kids favorite show and it's only female. Everyone's a gem and they do all kinds of gem like things and have powers. It's very complicated. And a little weird.

But when Glenn Hidalgo and I were thinking about the roadrunner and bugs bunny and wiley coyote and Tom and Jerry always beating each other. Now it's all about these complicated stories about gems can fuse and become new things, and they all have a lesson and Glenn and I were thinking, God this stuff is weird. Oh and they have musical numbers, which then get made into albums. It's like a broadway show. I bet Broadway will be next for it.


Steven Universe Fans

A lapis is a blue gem and they are in charge of terra forming planets and then they fight and do battle and do all kinds of weird stuff. And they go to all these new worlds and they used to destroy them but now they don't. Some of the characters are kind of gross but the kids love it.
Glenn Hidalgo and I watched Steven Universe Future

Glenn Hidalgo used to be a cartoonist or excuse me graphic novel illustrator and so he knows how tough it is to make a cartoon character and keep the story line going. When Glenn and I were sitting and watching Steven Universe, we got to watch all the darn kids toys commercials. I told him so this is where they all went. I missed the days of having to tell a kid no every five minutes because she was watching cartoons and got hooked on the ads.

Chia Pet

And then Glenn and I saw that there's a Chia pet and there's now a Star Wars set of Chia pets. It had a Gru (not star wars), Yoda and Chebacca Chia pet. So weird but too funny. Glenn Hidalgo told me he liked the new Connect 4 game. That looks fun. What are some of the games you played as a kid. After we watched Steven Universe we pulled out our old game of Twister and played that for a while. It was a whole lot of fun.

Glenn Hidalgo Loves Cheddar Cheese from New York

Glenn Hidalgo and I both love Cheddar Cheese When Glenn Hidalgo was visiting I made him a grilled cheese sandwich. I know some people use tomatoes but I didn't do that. Glenn Hidalgo and I both just really love a good grilled cheese sandwich. It may not be totally keto friendly unless you find low carb bread, but we all love grilled cheese. Glenn Hidalgo and I discussed what kind of cheddar cheese we each like. While I like extra sharp cheddar, Glenn Hidalgo likes mild cheddar. He said it's like his personality. He's mild. Ha. So Glenn Hidalgo and I also like eating cheddar cheese on crackers. So on a weekend when we are sitting around doing nothing I'll make a plate of cheddar cheese and crackers and maybe some fruit and Glenn Hidalgo and I will sit down and watch a movie that way. Glenn Hidalgo And How Much He REALLY LIKES Chinese Food

My friend Glenn Hidalgo and I really like Chinese Food, We like all kinds and love to order in or get take out. Glenn Hidalgo and I also like sushi. It's not exactly Chinese food but sometimes you can get it from the same place. Glenn Hidalgo and I were talking about how I used to get Chinese food in Queens and he got it in Brooklyn. Back in those days you had to call it in. That was always fun. Maybe they got it right, you had no idea. Then you had to go get it. Someone had to go get it. Glenn Hidalgo said his uncle used to make him go get the Chinese food. When I was in Queens we used to get chinese food all the time as a kid. Then when I moved we still got it, but we'd pick it up and eat it at the pool. I asked Glenn Hidalgo if he had a pool back then and he said no.
